Facial or body hair loss in men, change in sexual organs- men; loss of menstruation, painful intercourse, infertility, changes in physical appearance, visual changes

Infertility; growth retardation; osteoporosis

- Ineffective breathing pattern related to pain
- Chronic sorrow related to inability to conceive a child
- Sexual dysfunction related to disease process
- Altered self concept related to physical changes
Goals
- The client will identify treatment strategies and demonstrate self administration of medications.
- The client will state an increase in self-esteem.
Interventions
- Administer medications, as ordered.
- Monitor for reactions to medications.
- Teach client how to administer own injections, transdermal patches, or medications.
- Teach client expected reactions and possible side effects of medications.
- Encourage client to discuss disease process, changes experienced related to disease and/or medical therapy.
- Encourage client to discuss feelings regarding infertility.
- For women, monitor for blood clots and hypertension.
- For men, monitor for BPH, gynecomastia.
- Monitor for signs/ symptoms of complications.
